Hire Me

I’m a full-stack developer and infrastructure engineer based in Northamptonshire, UK. I build things that work. Custom platforms, ecommerce tools, internal systems, and the infrastructure to run them. No agencies, no middlemen, no bullshit.

I’ve spent over a decade building and maintaining the entire tech stack for a family ecommerce business. Listing products across multiple channels, managing servers, writing custom applications, and keeping everything running. If it plugs in, connects to the internet, or needs code, I’ve probably fixed it at 2am.

What I do

Web Development

Full-stack applications built to solve real problems, not impress other developers.

  • PHP / Laravel / Livewire - my bread and butter for web apps, dashboards, and admin panels
  • Go (Golang) - APIs, microservices, background workers, CLI tools
  • Vue.js - modern frontends with Tailwind CSS
  • MySQL - schema design, optimisation, the boring stuff that matters

Infrastructure & DevOps

I manage servers, not tickets.

  • Linux server management - Ubuntu, Debian, setup to maintenance
  • Docker - containerised deployments, compose stacks, the works
  • Cloud hosting - DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr. Sensible hosting for sensible money. Not AWS. You don’t need it and neither does your wallet
  • Laravel Forge - zero-downtime deployments, SSL, server provisioning
  • Proxmox - virtualisation, LXC containers, VM management
  • DNS & networking - Cloudflare, Technitium, Traefik reverse proxy, VPNs, firewalls
  • Monitoring - Uptime Kuma, Grafana, Prometheus, keeping things alive

Ecommerce

I’ve listed, managed, and shipped thousands of products across multiple platforms.

  • Multi-channel listing - eBay, Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce
  • Order management - custom platforms, Linnworks integration, workflow automation
  • Product data - feed management, variant structures, pricing logic
  • The stuff nobody thinks about - returns processing, shipping label automation, stock sync, the boring ops that make or break an ecommerce business

Automation & Integration

If you’re doing something manually more than twice, I’ll automate it.

  • API integrations - connecting systems that weren’t designed to talk to each other
  • Data pipelines - getting data from A to B without losing it
  • Cron jobs & workers - background processing, scheduled tasks, queue management
  • Webhooks - real-time event handling between services

What I’ve built

  • Multi-channel ecommerce platform - product management, listing automation, order processing across eBay, Amazon, and direct sales
  • Media recording pipeline - Go-based system handling concurrent HLS/LLHLS stream recording with worker distribution across multiple servers
  • Document management system - AI-powered classification using Claude Vision, automatic metadata extraction, financial document forwarding
  • Bluetooth proximity detection - macOS app using CoreBluetooth BLE RSSI monitoring for automatic screen lock/unlock
  • Network infrastructure - self-hosted DNS, reverse proxies, monitoring stack, VPN tunnels, NAS management across a Proxmox cluster
  • Internal tools - too many to list. If someone needed it, I built it.

How I work

  • Remote only - I’m in Northamptonshire but your servers don’t care where I sit
  • Plain English - I explain what I’m doing and why. No jargon walls, no mystifying the work to justify the invoice
  • Pragmatic - I build what you need, not what looks good on my portfolio. Simple first, complex only when necessary
  • Honest - if something is outside my experience, I’ll tell you. If your idea is bad, I’ll tell you that too. You’re paying for my opinion, not just my keyboard

What I don’t do

  • AWS consulting - you almost certainly don’t need it. I’ll save you thousands by hosting sensibly elsewhere
  • Wordpress sites - there are cheaper people for that
  • Mobile apps - not my world
  • Design from scratch - I can implement a design beautifully but I’m not a graphic designer. Bring a design or let me work with a clean, functional aesthetic

Who I’m for

I’m not looking for enterprise clients or big corporates with IT departments and procurement processes. I’m here for the small, independent businesses and people who just need someone they can ring up and go “the wifi’s broken” and it gets fixed in 10 minutes.

Your thing is broken? I’ll fix it. Your business needs a tool? I’ll build it. You’re drowning in spreadsheets? I’ll automate them. You don’t need a tech team. You need one bloke who gets it.

No contracts, no retainers, no minimum hours. Just work that needs doing and someone who’ll do it properly.
